Anarchism, briefly
Anarchism is the idea that people can organize their own lives — work, care, defense, decision-making — without rulers, through free association and mutual aid. It grew out of the socialist and anti-authoritarian tradition of the nineteenth century and has been practiced, not just theorized, ever since.
Pierre-Joseph Proudhon asked what property is and answered plainly. Peter Kropotkin showed that cooperation, not competition, is what lets communities survive. What connects them to us is simple: ordinary people are capable of running things themselves.
